This used to be our go to lunch joint every weekend. Husband being Czech/German, nothing beats a tasty schnitzel. Wed sit out in the sun, eat, drink & watch the world go buy. Lunch was always 150 or more for 4 of us. All was great until it wasnt. Our kids schnitzel order was served with not only rancid potato salad but equally rancid carrot salad! Moving on after complaining, we were surprised to be charged for the schnitzels in question. We stopped going for 6 months after this incident. If chef can serve rancid food & not check his product & dates, I dread to think about the veal. Regardless, we soon forgot & went back. Love the cosy Viennese feel. This time round, the schnitzel had halved in size & were also out of cranberry sauce. Hello? Surely you should mention this to customers before you order not when serving. Super disappointing at 18 a pop. Suffice to say we have yet to return. Its sad so many new restaurants open with good intentions - until the greed sets in. PS. Delicious food but no vegan/GF friendly. There were only one meal on the menu that I could order... It was delicious though. A bit oily but delicious. As many British venues, the restaurant tends to be quite noisy so it is not easy to talk and hear each other.

Being windy and rainy outside, I have been seduced by the Alpine hearty comfort food, so brilliantly described in the menu. Unfortunately, the quality of ingredients was more than disappointing: chewy ham. wilted salad leaves, stale bread, stone cold strudel. Oh, and be prepared to pay for the cup of the boiled water. I asked to refill my tea cup with hot water. The bill arrived: I was charged for 2 cups of tea. When asked why they billed me for a cup of hot water, was somewhat baffled by the manager's reaction: "Oh, but we have to!" Unforgettable experience in more than one way.

Kipferl is a lovely little restaurant with authentic Austrian and German food and drinks. It's good for having lunch or just coffee and cake. It's definitely worth a try - and don't miss the broad selection of cakes.

Over the last couple of years we have eaten lunch here quite a few times. With one exception when the schnitzel was rather under beaten it has never let us down. Great Austrian food. Reasonable, but not cheap, prices. Recommended.
